Active Protection During Serious Hip-Impacting Falls

Tango® Belt continuously monitors motion, identifies serious hip-impacting falls in progress, and deploys an airbag around the hips to reduce impact forces. Tango Belt actively treats patients with a diagnosed risk of major hip injury due to falls.

Detection, Mitigation and Notifications

Automatic Fall Detection
Advanced 3-D motion sensors allow Tango Belt’s built-in algorithms to recognize a serious hip-impacting fall in progress. These algorithms are specifically calibrated such that only serious hip-impacting fall motions trigger airbag deployment.

Active Hip-Impact Mitigation
When deployment is initiated, a bilateral airbag is deployed in less than 90 milliseconds to attenuate the impact forces that could otherwise result in major hip injury.

Care Notifications
When configured to the Companion Mobile Application, the Tango Belt automatically sends notifications to patient-specified caregivers when a fall is detected, or via the patient-triggered “call button” when attention is needed.
